Carl Brothers Carl Brothers received his bachelor degree in Fine Arts and Education from Pittsburg State University in 1975. His first teaching job was with Baileyville High School, and he taught there for four years. He then retired to paint full time and take classes from an academy graduate in Topeka, Kansas for three years. Later, he went back to teaching and taught at Frankfort and Centralia. He has taught here for 21 years and counting. His art classes have received six trophies in the last ten years at art contests. In 1992, he bought a building in Centralia to turn into a studio for his art. Later, he turned it into a pottery business. He has made a numerous amount of pots, and has decided to take them to art shows to sell. He has gone all around Kansas and even to Colorado to sell his work. Carl goes to 10 or 12 art shows a year in the summer and fall, and in his spare time, he directs plays at the schools. You can reach him at brothersc@usd380.com
