Julie GleasonJulie Gleason graduated from Kansas State University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Music. She earned additional endorsements in Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science in middle school. Her music degrees were vocal and instrumental with minors in piano and trumpet. After teaching 5 years, she completed her Masters Degree in 1989 with an emphasis in Reading and Language Arts. During her teaching careers at Centralia School, her class assignments have included K-12 vocal music, 5-12 instrumental music, Junior high Speech, Spelling, 9th grade English, Sophomore English and college English. She has been a class sponsor for many classes, most recently the class of 2011, and in the past has served as cheerleading, drill team, & JH Scholars Bowl Sponsor. She currently has several high ranking performance groups all of which are soloists who have been very successful in music competitions at the league, regional, and state levels. CMC (Centralia Mixed Combo) is also under her direction and has been an opening act for the past 4 years in Branson, MO. Which has been the opening act for performances such as Barbara Fairchild, The Hughes Brothers, 50’s at the Hop, and The Hay Goods. Her community activates include giving piano lessons, working for the Centralia Ambulance as an EMT, and helping coach summer League Ball.
