Janet Heiman

Janet Heiman began her teaching career at Vermillion with a combination class. She had children in second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. After that, she taught kindergarten and fourth grade at Centralia. She now enjoys teaching first graders at Centralia. Janet has always lived in Nemaha County since she grew up on a farm north of Baileyville. She graduated from K-State in 1980 with a degree in elementary education and has since completed her master's degree at K-State. Melvin and Janet live on a dairy farm south of Baileyville. She has two daughters that have graduated from K-State. Although her daughters are no longer living in Manhattan, Janet and her husband continue to enjoy following the Wildcats. Janet's hobbies consist of reading, gardening, and watching her grandchildren when possible. You can e-mail her at
