Karla Lueger

Karla Lueger grew up on a farm near Centralia and graduated from Centralia High School.  She attended Emporia State University, where she obtained her bachelor degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood.  She completed her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education at Emporia State University and completed her practicum at the Children's Therapeutic Learning Center at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Karla has taught Kindergarten for 9 years at Centralia School and is currently the MTSS reading teacher. Previously, Karla has taught First Grade, Second Grade, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten.  She was an Early Childhood Special Education teacher for two years in the DeSoto School District and was nominated Teacher of the Year in 2008.  Karla is married to her high school sweetheart Jerry Lueger and they have three children:  Cole, McKenna, and Maddy.  In her free time, Karla enjoys running, gardening, reading, and spending time with family.  You can email Karla at
