| Pat Massie Pat Massie grew up in Chicago, Illinois on the south side of the city in an area called Beverly. She graduated from an all-girl high school in a class of 550 students. She attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois for two years. Then she transferred to DePaul University in Chicago where she completed her degree. Mrs. Massie taught first grade for two years at an inner-city school in Chicago. She then moved to Kansas and lived in Topeka while her husband attended college at Washburn. Pat taught at Our Lady of Guadalupe for one year and then worked at Avondale East for three years. The Massie family moved to Vermillion when their two children, Josh and Aaron, were babies. Around this time, Pat completed her Master's Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Gifted from K-State. Pat taught at Corning Elementary school as the Chapter I Reading and Math teacher for three years. Mrs. Massie has now found her home in 4th Grade at Centralia. She enjoys the curriculum and the students' enthusiasm for learning. In her spare time, Pat enjoys reading, quilting, and many other crafts. She can be reached at massiep@usd380.com |
