Lydia Steinlage

Lydia Steinlage grew up on a farm near Scandia, Kansas. She graduated from Pike Valley High School. After graduation, she attended Bethany College for one year and completed her BS in Business Education three years later from Kansas State University. Lydia taught and coached in Sharon (2 years) and Smith Center (1 year). Then took a hiatus for 4 years during which she worked for in Salina for Haddock Computer Center and ComputerLand and in Concordia for the Northeast Educational Service Center as a Technology Coordinator for 10 school districts in the area.  A job offer in Onaga brought her to this area. In Onaga, she taught 7-12 business and wore a variety of extra hats.  Following a blind date introduction, she married Paul Steinlage and moved to Corning in 1992 and finished her Master’s Degree in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State in 1993.  They have 3 boys – Alexander (1993), Theodore (1995), and Nathaniel (1999).  In 2005, she hung up her teaching career to spend more time as mom and farm hand.
